For those of you have lusted after the handsome Timi, I have bad news he’s taken. But look at him now! He’s one of Italy’s finest actors and he’s HOT, to boot. This guy had so much going against him when he was young, what with the eye problems, a reported stammer, epilepsy, and, they say, he was a chubby little guy. Timi is practically blind, suffering from something called Stargardt which limits his center field of vision. Knowing what I now, it might not have been the snub I’d thought it was. I saw him standing all alone in the theater and thought it might be a great time to catch him for one of my famous selfies, but as I approached, he appeared to act like he didn’t see me and he walked away. Paolo and Vittorio’s 1982 classic, Night of the Shooting Stars, which also won the Cannes Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize, will be shown June 4.įerreri’s The Ape Woman (1962) will be presented June 5 with an introduction by Anselma Dell’Olio. Unfortunately, Vittorio Taviani passed away this April, but his incredible contributions to film will always be remembered.
